PDFCreator 2012 allows you to create PDF files from any printable file or document. The program installs a virtual printer on your system, which you can then select just as you do with any other printer. Thus, all you need to do is to open the file you want to convert, and “print” it selecting "PDFCreator 2012" as the printer. This way you can get professional PDF files in just a few seconds.
The program implements a "Printer Properties" window, just like any real printer. In this window you can configure the layout of your resulting PDF files. You can set the page orientation (among portrait, landscape, and rotated portrait), select the number of pages per sheet (values ranging from 1 to 16), and set a color configuration, between black and white and color. Finally, you can press the "Advanced" button to open a new window with many more configurable parameters.
In this "Advanced Options" window you will see a new list of advanced parameters classified by categories. Among these parameters I will just mention the page size, the default number of copies, the print resolution, and some PostScript options, among others. Finally, once you send a document to the "PDFCreator 2012" printer, a new window opens with even more new parameters. Here you can select, for example, a PDF optimization level, among Default, Screen, eBook, Print, and Prepress. Here you can also edit the document properties and the level of security to apply to your PDF. Moreover, you can specify the folder to send your resulting PDF file to, and the action to take after the creation of the PDF file.
To sum up, PDFCreator 2012 is a handy and lightweight application that allows you to create a PDF file from any printable document. And you will not need any special skills to do so.
